The fabric itself is thin and can be folded compactly, so it won't get in the way in the dojo locker or at the competition venue. The waist is elastic and has a drawstring, so it's relaxed but won't slip down. The waist size is indicated as minimum and maximum, so you can choose a size in between. The shorts are knee-length, so they don't look too casual.
